Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Josh Kelly.

Kelly, 26, joins on a season-long loan from Sky Bet League One side AFC Wimbledon.

A Maidenhead United academy graduate, Kelly burst onto the non-league scene when he scored 39 goals in 2017-18 for Walton Casuals as they were promoted from the Isthmian South.

Unsurprisingly, Alan Devonshire embedded him into the Magpies’ senior side, with over 130 appearances for the club, including a standout 2021-22 season where he scored 17 in 41 games.

This form attracted a whole host of clubs, with Solihull Moors the victors, as Neal Ardley’s side made the National League playoff final with Kelly hitting double figures. A total of 29 goals in 75 games saw EFL interest as AFC Wimbledon paid an undisclosed fee for his services, where he has made 67 appearances, including 39 in the league last season as the Dons won promotion to League One.

Director of Football Jody Brown is delighted to get a top target over the line, adding, “All summer we’ve been patient with our recruitment, some may suggest too patient - but we got there in the end with Josh. He, like Olly Sanderson, was on our original list of 4/5 forwards, but we had to wait our turn as he’s a League One player that has commanded very decent transfer fees in the past & would rightly be driven to play at Wimbledon or at another EFL club.”

“Todd and I actually discussed Josh and the potential to sign him way back in October/November 2024 prior to Todd taking over the club - and he deserves a lot of gratitude for backing us to do this deal."

"Neal’s relationship, having worked with Josh at Solihull, was pivotal in helping to secure the move and for Josh to choose us over other interested clubs.”

“This is another piece of the jigsaw, his ability to beat players, score all kinds of goals, goals out of nothing, and his dynamic running will really add to what we believe is an already competitive squad. Wimbledon played their part in helping us to get this done, and we are thankful to them.”

The transfer is subject to EFL approval. Josh is available to sponsor for the 2025/26 season. Please email [email protected].
